Exciting opportunities within the Youth and Family Team

Are you a passionate, committed, and enthusiastic Social Workers, who can make a difference to young people who have been vulnerable to exploitation, contextual risks and have experienced trauma, which has impacted on their physical and emotional wellbeing? Do you have the attributes to make a difference to young people aged 12-18? If so, come and join a dynamic and friendly, supportive team of Social Workers and practitioners who want to make a difference for young people and their families

The Team is part of an integrated service which means we are closely aligned with the Youth Justice Service (YJS) and exploitation services. As a result of these close links, as a Social Worker you will be working alongside police officers, health workers, psychologists, education workers, substance misuse workers, as well as other Social Workers and many others.

Our approach is restorative and underpins every interaction with young people and families. It creates a shared language and culture, where we focus on building relationships which support good outcomes for young people. You will benefit from evidence-based approaches and feel supported by managers, with regular reflective practice sessions and a trauma informed approach. We have extensive support from senior management to ensure that we are able to deliver effective interventions that make a difference for young people and their families, in all aspects of their lives.

Now is a great time to join us and be part of this service.

This is a rolling campaign, and we will review applications daily so please don't wait for the closing date to apply, we want to speak to you now!

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
