What type of jobs are there?

"Knowing that the work I do contributes towards improving the lives of Peterborough residents is a real driver for me. Work isn’t just about coming into the office to do the 9 to 5, it’s about wanting to make a real difference. The commitment of my colleagues in working to achieve that goal means there’s always support when you need it and a great team spirit."

Living in Peterborough

Peterborough is a fascinating mixture of the ancient and modern. The renowned 11th century cathedral dominates the city centre landscape, while the large Queensgate shopping centre with over 100 top name stores is just across the square.

If you prefer older properties, then the many beautiful villages that surround the city will offer you the tranquillity of the countryside. Prices are very advantageous considering the proximity to London, at around 30% less than the surrounding counties, giving you plenty of choice in finding your ideal home.

There are many opportunities for leisure, with wide green spaces close to the city and beyond to explore by day including the Nene Park with a range of water sports and golf. Shops, cultural centres, sports activities and the river front offer alternative daytime pursuits, with other cities such as Cambridge, Nottingham and Leicester within easy reach. Theatres, cafes, pubs and restaurants provide the lively nightlife and a host to festivals, events and exhibitions take place throughout the year.

And there is always the draw of London with all the excitements it can offer, with the capital only a 50 minute train journey away.
