Trading Standards Officer (Salary range: £27,905-£31,371)

We are looking to recruit a motivated, ambitious, and highly effective individual to join our award winning Trading Standards Service operating across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and Rutland.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Trading Standards Service has an excellent opportunity for the right individual to join our dynamic team as a Trading Standards Officer.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a regulatory field, and have demonstrable experience working in partnership with other regulators and organisations. You will need the ability to build rapport with businesses and consumers to be successful in this post, as well as able to use your initiative to problem solve. You will be expected to undertake both proactive and reactive regulatory activities.

Day to day the role will involve investigating regulatory breaches, compliance inspections, providing legislative advice and guidance to businesses, project work and other work streams to support and promote legislative compliance. From time to time this will include taking part in local, regional and national initiatives and enforcement activities.

The successful candidate will be joining a fast paced, highly effective, and nationally acclaimed Service, with offices in Cambourne and in Peterborough. The council operates flexible working

arrangements, where agile working is encouraged, and supported.

We are committed to staff development and ongoing professional development, consequently a willingness to undertake training is essential.
