Further Information
Tight teams, low caseloads, life changing results. It’s a bold statement to make.
Join our children’s social care teams at Peterborough City Council and experience it for yourself.

“Peterborough values me… it’s a compassionate organisation that genuinely values its workers”

“I feel safe in my practice, I feel safe to say I think I might have got this wrong”

“We can be really effective in the work that we do and the outcomes we achieve for children – that makes it worth getting up in the morning”.

These are just some of the responses we had from our social workers when we asked them why they love working here. Does this sound like an environment where you could make a real difference?

Having achieved ‘Good’ in our 2018 Ofsted inspection we have firmly set our sights on ‘Outstanding’, and are looking for passionate and committed social workers to join us.

We are looking for a motivated and forward thinking manager, to join us in Peterborough, to drive the progress we have made in Childrens' Services over recent years and to deliver innovative services to our children, young people and their families that makes a difference to them.

You will find we have a huge commitment to providing staff with exceptional levels of support which includes working hard to reduce caseloads, and offering both managers and practitioners the opportunities to develop.

This exciting opportunity has arisen within the council for a leaving Care manager post within the Corporate Parenting service.

The successful applicant will be expected to supervise personal advisors and social workers with an emphasis on transitioning and preparing for adult hood.

This posts requires the successful post holder to demonstrate good collaborative skills with a range of partners, manage through put of work, safeguard young people, allocate work, deal with health and safety issues which will include employment relations.

You will join a well-established and supportive management team that is child focused and aspirational in its approach to improving practice.
