The Disability Social Care 0-25 Service is offering an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager to join their Children’s 0-18 team. This team provides all statutory social work services to children, young people and their families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities up to the age of 18 years. The children’s team works closely alongside the Transitions Team to enable a smooth transition of children and young people with complex needs in to Adult services.

The 0-18 team in Peterborough is a busy, lively and interesting service, and would ideally suit a manager who is proactive and adaptable, and who has a passion for ensuring that children and young people with complex needs in our area receive a positive experience when having their needs met. A Team Manager in the service should be strong and supportive and provide good quality case direction and guidance. Additionally, the service offers a range of opportunities to develop further professionally across the children’s, adult’s and SEND agendas.

The Children’s 0-18 team provides advice, guidance and statutory intervention across all social care functions, from early intervention under CSDPA, to Child In Need, Child Protection, Public Law Outline, Court Proceedings, and Children in Care. As such the work is diverse, varied and exceptionally beneficial for professionals looking to expand their existing skills and experience.

The team works across all children's legislation and allows for a high level of multi-agency working, creativity and autonomy. A Team Manager joining the service can come from a varied background in children's social care - All social work backgrounds and skills are relevant and transferable to the service for those with an interest in developing new skills and knowledge around disability and complex needs.

The shortlisting for this role will take place on 21st December, with interviews taking place on 7th January 2022.
