Further Information
Exciting opportunity for a HCPC Registered Senior Occupational Therapist or Social Worker, with proven experience in mental health.

Peterborough City Council, through their Section 75 Agreement, provides mental health social work which is integrated with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT). Whilst we are an integrated service, Social Workers work to an aligned model of service delivery. We look to support the effective and efficient delivery of social work and social care interventions that meet current policy and legislative requirements and are based on best practice. Our aim is to ensure positive outcomes for people, their families and carers.

We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader to work across our service, to provide inspirational operational management and leadership, ensuring effective implementation, and ongoing development and delivery of social work and social care interventions.

The role will work closely with the Social Work Manager and Head of Social Work to ensure delivery and development of services and support to adults which focus on the person’s strengths and assets, which work in a collaborative way with them, their carers, their community and partner agencies with the aim to meet needs, promote recovery, achieve outcomes and best value. We have to develop services based on best practice that promote and create opportunities for people to self manage, to be able to access the right help at the right time when they need it and which are coproduced with them.

The post holder will be expected to provide management and leadership in order that the service can deliver safe and effective high quality care and support. Central to this role will be the monitoring of performance within available resources and achieving set targets. Representing the service at both key multidisciplinary management meetings, with external agencies and with the voluntary sector.
We are a very busy service and are based in Multidisciplinary teams, which includes Community Psychiatric Nurses, Doctors, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Support Workers and Peer Support Workers. We have a prison service which provides assessments and services under the Care Act and a Reablement service which looks to work to enable people to meet the outcomes they identify, whilst strengthening their practical and social skills to build resilience and inclusion in their community. The post holder will have specific management and supervision responsibility for the Reablement service.

Our service links in with the acute inpatient and CRHTT services to ensure timely and effective discharge back into the person’s community after admission.

Peterborough City Council and CPFT offer training opportunities for staff to keep their practice and HCPC registration up to date and improve their knowledge and skills generally and progress in their career.

This post will be offered under NHS Agenda for Change or Local Authority Terms and Conditions.
