Peterborough City Council are looking for someone who is a good problem solver with an eye for detail. The successful applicant will have great communication skills, be a leader and be able to manage competing priorities. You will be good at managing a team with the flexibility to deliver multiple work streams with conflicting deadlines.
We are seeking a person to lead the Streetworks Team, managing the co-ordination of works on the highway network to ensure that the works are managed accurately and efficiently in line with aims of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, with minimal disruption to highway users.
You will ensure that permit applications are processed in accordance with the legislation and national conditions. The successful applicant will ensure the co-ordination of works on the highway network in order to minimise disruption to the public and ensure that reinstatements meet the required standards. You will lead the team delivering permits, TTRO’s, licences and carrying out inspections, whilst protecting the Council’s future maintenance liability. You will be responsible for managing an income of £500k+. A good knowledge of the Peterborough road network would be an advantage.
