The Passenger Transport Operations Team manages all aspects of the day to day transport operations for education, children’s social care, Community Link door-to-door and Rural Dial a Ride Transport.
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and excellent customer care skills to work within the Passenger Transport Operations Team.
As a Specialist Transport Officer you will be responsible for all specialist transport issues relating to Passenger Transport Operations including the organisation of driver and escort training, assessing and managing specialist equipment required to transport clients safely and to manage stock levels.
The person needs to be a highly motivated individual with good communication and presentation skills to deliver training to drivers and passenger assistants. The ideal candidate will have a passion for ensuring services meet the complex needs of the clients.
You will be responsible for managing the employed drivers who deliver children’s social care including the approval of time-sheets and managing annual leave. The role also manages the Council’s responsibilities in respect of the Disclosure and Barring Service in line with guidance for staff working on passenger transport services.
The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent operational knowledge of passenger transport legislation, procedures and guidance. You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have an understanding of procurement and providing services for those with specialist requirements.
