Term Time only – 35 hours per week
NJC Grade 5 SCP 5-7 £18,795 - £19,554 pro rata
Fixed Term Contract 11 months (September – July)
We are looking for a BSL Teaching Assistant to join our team of hard working and dedicated Teaching Assistants in our high performing study programme department.
Teaching Assistants support the teaching, learning and assessment process in the classroom and helping to ensure that learners needs are met outside of the classroom. Promoting independence is a vital part of the job role and you will be working with young people aged 16 – 25 who have Special Educational Needs.
The successful candidate will be required to:
• Establish effective working relationships with Hearing Impaired learners
• Undertake the role of Teaching Assistant inside and outside of the classroom in order to provide high quality support to HI learners
• Have excellent communication skills and minimum level 3 BSL
• Work effectively with tutors to ensure the level of challenge is appropriate for the learner/s
