Further Information
Peterborough is going places! One of the fastest growing cities in the UK, home to national and international businesses, and rich in history, culture, diversity and wonderful open spaces, Peterborough is a true world city.

And we’re at the very beginning of a £1bn growth and regeneration programme that needs an inspirational Service Director to drive it forwards.

Alongside leadership of our growth programme, the Service Director will also fulfil the role of Chief Planner, leading our Planning and Building Control services, and will be responsible for driving up opportunity and prosperity for our residents through leading our skills and economic development functions. One of the most exciting jobs in Local Government today!

We’ve laid the foundations; your job will be to build on them and deliver some truly amazing and life-changing outcomes.

If you have the drive, vision, resilience, and determination to take on this role, we’d love to hear from you. Experience of developing and delivering high profile, complex regeneration programmes is a must, but apart from that we’re interested in hearing about your passion and vision for our city rather than any formal qualifications or broader expertise.

At Peterborough City Council, diversity is our strength, and inclusion is our norm. We invite applications from all qualified individuals, irrespective of race, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation, or religion.

If you’d like an informal discussion about this role, please contact sarah.swift@peterborough.gov.uk.

To apply, please ensure you add a personal statement setting out the ways in which you meet the criteria for the role, along with a copy of your CV and details of two referees.
