We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a experience in housing enforcement, to join our busy front line private sector housing service, within the Prevention and Enforcement Service

You will be responsible for:

- To investigate housing compliant’s and public health issues in privately rented houses
- Surveying and risk assessing properties within the Private Rented Sector using the Housing Health and Safety Rating system, taking appropriate action to remove risks, preparing statements, schedules of works and statutory notices.
- Taking a lead responsibility for investigating complaints of threatened and actual illegal eviction and harassment
- To support the delivery of the Prevention and Enforcement Service and specific projects as identified by the Safer Peterborough Partnership and other strategic decision making bodies within the Council.
- To assess the suitability of Houses in Multiple Occupation and risk rate accordingly. To assess management suitability and apply relevant regulations and legislation in determining fit and proper criteria, management regulations, fire safety and housing standards.


Excellent customer service skills, organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team. You will also have experience of inspecting properties under Housing Health and Safety Rating system. Managing and progressing Working within a busy front line team.
