Further Information
We are seeking 2 experienced and qualified Social Workers at a Senior Practitioner level who are passionate and committed to providing specialist support to young people and their families.

The Targeted Youth Support Service (TYSS) will be a multi-agency service assessing needs and delivering a range of interventions to adolescents and their families, including intensive family support, young people identified as Child In Need and reunification of young people with their families following a short period in care.

Launching in September 2018 we require 2 Senior Practitioners.

To apply for this role you must be a registered social worker, have significant experience of supervising a complex caseload of vulnerable young people, be a car driver and be eligible to work in the UK.

Working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies from Peterborough you will be committed to making a significant contribution to young people who are experiencing a range of difficulties and working effectively with them to secure better outcomes.

You will work directly with young people who are at risk of family breakdown, homelessness, being exploited, substance misuse, have offended or who are at risk of offending. You will assess their and their family’s needs and will plan and deliver, in conjunction with partner agencies, a holistic programme of intervention based on effective practice models.

You will take a lead in project and practice development work and will have some supervisory responsibilities. You will be confident in your abilities as a Social Worker and will be a practice consultant to other members of the team. You will contribute to the induction of new staff and be able to develop others confidence, skills and abilities. You will work with a degree of autonomy with highly complex families.

These are times of change both within Peterborough and nationally and it is therefore vital that you are both adaptable and resilient.

The ability to work with initiative within a statutory framework is essential; as are excellent assessment, analytical, planning, communication and IT skills alongside a proven ability to engage young people and their families.
