Further Information
The Growth and Regeneration team deals with all aspects of Planning, Property and Highway law for the Council, and also includes the Land Charges team. The senior lawyer is expected to have a working knowledge of all areas and to specialise in one or more aspects of the work of the team. The senior lawyer will liaise with senior officers and support projects across the Council in respect of all areas of the team's work, to ensure that timely and accurate advice is provided. This will be achieved through a mix of direct work by the senior lawyer and the allocation and monitoring of work undertaken by other members of the team.

A forward thinking legal team, we provide advice to Peterborough, Rutland and Fenland councils and the newly created Peterborough and Cambridgeshire combined authority. Based in the Council’s new and purpose built office at Sand Martin House, enjoying a prestigious location and outstanding views across the river Nene, the office is just a short walk from the town centre. The Council promotes agile working and staff have opportunities to locate with colleagues and clients as well as working from home.
Peterborough is a great place to live and work with a reputation as the location of choice for smart investors. Our local companies are pushing the bounds of innovation and sustainability, and they're growing. The Council is ambitious and constantly innovating to support economic growth, focussed on investment, growth, connectivity and opportunity. We enjoy a diverse and multicultural community with local residents benefitting from an excellent house-price-to-earnings ratio. Property is attractive, affordable and plentiful. We were voted as one of the top ten cities to raise a family and are proud of our beautiful landscapes, country parks and unique heritage. Located in North Cambridgeshire close to Cambridge, Huntingdon and Lincoln, we are also just a short 46 minute train ride from London with excellent road transport links as well - set to take only 35 minutes from December with the rollout of brand new high speed Azuma trains.
