Peterborough is a city of opportunity with a positive future and there has never been a better time to work for our council.
An explosion of growth is taking place in Peterborough which will benefit everyone who lives, works and spends time here. Cranes, scaffolding and new buildings emerging on our skyline are a common sight – with plenty more currently being planned.
We’ve launched a new Corporate Strategy and set of City Priorities, setting out what we are striving to achieve for our city in four key areas, which includes a focus on supporting children and families.
As an organisation we are focussed on being the best employer that we can be.
We’ve launched a new set of Corporate Values, committing us all to ensuring we are transparent, inclusive, innovative, respectful, collaborative and acting with integrity at all times.
We offer an attractive set of staff benefits including generous annual leave, flexible working, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, salary sacrifice schemes including car leasing and a cycle to work scheme and the chance to complete volunteering days in the community.
One of the many functions of our Children’s Services department is ensuring that children in care can live in homes with loving families who can meet their needs – for some children this will be with a foster carer. That is why we are investing heavily in our fostering service, to find safe and loving homes for children who can no longer live with their birth families. A key priority is to increase the numbers of council fostering placements.
As a result, we are looking for someone to join us to lead on the delivery of marketing and project work related to the recruitment and retention of foster carers. This person will sit as part of the Fostering Recruitment Team.
Specifically, the post holder will:
• Work with Senior Management to devise and deliver the Fostering Service Marketing strategy to ensure that we meet our recruitment and sufficiency service goals
• Plan and monitor fostering marketing campaigns and link in with communications department where needed to ensure effectiveness.
• Plan, set up and co-ordinate events and workshops aimed at engaging with specific audiences.
• Lead on project work withing the fostering service linked to recruitment and sufficiency targets.
• Support the transformation programme currently underway in the fostering service.
• Support with the new brand and marketing strategy within the fostering service.
• Support the Fostering Recruitment Team in adopting a commercial focus in recruitment and retention of foster carers.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, flexible and able to manage multiple demands with minimal direction. They will have:
• Excellent knowledge of how to write Marketing and project plans and in the delivery of them.
• Proven results in delivering recruitment campaigns.
• Detailed knowledge of a wide range of marketing and engagement tools and able to advise on the best channels and messaging to support fostering recruitment and retention.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to work independently without direct support.
The office base for this role is Sand Martin House on the new Fletton Quays riverside development. All staff are encouraged to work flexibly in a way which meets the needs of the council and allows staff to meet their own personal commitments,
We are also proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
If you think you have the right experience and qualifications for this role, we want to hear from you. For an informal discussion please contact Amanda Carter on 07800601999.
