Further Information
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Development Management Officer within the Council’s Planning Team.
Peterborough has an ambitious growth agenda and the role is key to supporting the Council’s objective of delivering high quality development in a timely and efficient manner.
Peterborough is a unique combination of a New Town and historic Cathedral City and one of the fastest growing places in the UK. The enviable parkway and cycleway networks mean you can get around Peterborough in next to no time. Located on the A1 and the East Coast Main Line, we are in a highly accessible location that makes us an attractive location for new business and homes.
As a result, we are currently experiencing considerable growth and investment, including a new University, new Station Quarter and new cultural facilities in the city centre, as well as new urban extensions on the edge of the city, and many other developments of all scales.
If you are looking to progress your career in town planning, then Peterborough is the place to be.
As a planning officer with at least 3 years broad experience of development delivery and a planning or related degree, you will be experienced in dealing with householder and minor planning applications.
You will have analytical and problem solving qualities, and will be expected to work on complex minor or small scale major planning applications and support our Principal planners on major projects such as city centre developments or sustainable urban extensions to the city. The role also involves mentoring less experienced officers, driving up the quality of design and participating in service improvement projects.
