No two days are ever the same working for our council – we’re providing services for one of the fastest growing cities in the country, an explosion of growth is taking place, our communities are diverse and home to people from a variety of different countries and we’ve just agreed a new Corporate Strategy which aims to improve the lives of everyone who lives and works in the city.
There has never been a better time to work for our council, and if you’re a communications professional, it presents a great opportunity to make your mark and to make a difference.
We’re looking for a part-time Senior Communications Officer to work as part of the council’s Communications Team on a one-year contract.
In particular, the postholder will support the roll-out of Family Hubs, a national programme to help ensure that babies, children and families have the support they need, when it is needed. Peterborough is one of 75 areas to receive extra funding from the government as part of the programme.
This position would suit someone with a good level of communications experience in social media, media relations, marketing, campaigns and events and can demonstrate success.
Working for our council comes with a wide range of benefits including generous annual leave, flexible working, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, salary sacrifice schemes including car leasing and a cycle to work scheme and the chance to complete volunteering days in the community.
We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.?
If you think you have the right experience and qualifications for this role, we want to hear from you. For an informal discussion please contact Amanda Rose on 07572 463889.
