Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council are looking for a Senior Commissioner for Children in Care to join our shared Children’s Commissioning Service.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a highly motivated and innovative commissioner with a proven track record of
delivery.
• Have a pro-active approach.
• Have the ability to ensure the best quality and range of services are commissioned to
meet the diverse needs of our children's population.
• Have substantial commissioning experience in children in care within a local
government arena
• Have comprehensive commercial awareness and ability to manage and deliver
transformational change within a fast moving environment.
• Be able to demonstrate drive and determination to ensure our vision, aims and
business objectives are comprehensively delivered on time, to budget, offering value for
money services that do not compromise on quality or achievement of identified
outcomes.
• Be able to travel across the two authority areas

The successful candidate will:

• Be line managed by the Head of Service – Children’s Commissioning and be part
of a
creative forward thinking management team
• Have lead responsibility for all elements of children in care commissioning, line
managing two CiC Commissioners
• Manage the Senior Placements Officer for the Access to Resources Team
• Lead on all associated business plans and manage delivery
• Have responsibility for identifying, managing and delivering testing savings
targets
across the two authority areas
