Peterborough City Council is seeking a skilled and innovative individual to help us protect and enhance the city’s wealth of heritage assets, whilst supporting sustainable development and a strong growth agenda.

An exciting opportunity to join our well respected Built Environment Team as a Senior Conservation Officer, dedicated to conserving and improving the historic environment of Peterborough and its surrounding rural villages. The role is varied, providing expert heritage advice in relation to listed buildings and conservation areas on planning applications and advising owners, as well as providing design advice for public realm improvement schemes.
You will have a degree or postgraduate qualification in Historic Building Conservation or Planning, Architecture or Surveying with strong knowledge and interest in historic building design, construction and conservation legislation and policy.

The post involves travel to site visits and meetings, therefore you must be able to meet the transport requirements. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required and most importantly, you should be enthusiastic and self-motivated, valuing being a positive member of the team.
