We are looking for an enthusiastic Rehabilitation Officer, with a recognised specialist qualification, to work with people with a visual impairment. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work with local multi-disciplinary teams. You must be organised, flexible and able to travel.
This essential role is based within the Home Services Delivery Team in Adult Social Care, which includes Therapy Services, Care & Repair, Assistive Technology and Reablement, delivering services to clients in their own homes enabling them to be as independent as possible. You will be based within the friendly and professional Therapy Services team and work as part of a distinct Sensory team. There are strong links with the sensory team within Cambridgeshire and a collaborative approach to developing specialist services.
You must be an autonomous and highly motivated practitioner who wants to develop their practice and who is looking for a new challenge in the work place. As part of an exciting development, you would also have the opportunity, to act as a mentor for a prospective Apprenticeship post within the team. We would value keen, creative individuals who thrive on enhancing services.
The successful candidate will have:
• The ability to undertake comprehensive Visual Impairment / functional assessments and rehabilitation interventions
• Be knowledgeable of relevant legislation with an awareness of working with vulnerable adults
• Awareness of the requirements of lone working, completing assessments in client’s homes / joint working with other Social Care / housing / health colleagues and safeguarding duties, including risk assessments.
• Membership of RWPN and a commitment to CPD
