Further Information
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Officer to join our high performing regulatory services team. We are a forward-looking service with
arrangements in place to provide services for other councils.

The excellent and innovative work that we achieve in Peterborough has been
recognised with the service being shortlisted and winning several national awards. Our aim is to remain at the forefront of regulatory services delivery, encouraging innovation amongst team members to drive forward and develop the service.

This post is based in Peterborough, though you will also work closely with colleagues
based in Oakham, Rutland. The diverse demographic and geographic nature of the area
covered by the service makes it an ideal ground for the professional development of any officer.

The team is actively involved in the local COVID response working in partnership with Public Health and local businesses, both reactively and proactively, to address emerging issues.

Ideally, you will be EHRB registered and have experience of enforcing food safety and health and safety legislation. You will carry out interventions, investigate complaints and infectious diseases and provide business advice. The service is developing commercial services and has several Primary Authority arrangements in place with national businesses. Experience of dealing with private water supplies would also be an advantage.

The role requires excellent communication and team working skills and a flexible solution focussed approach.
IMPORTANT: This role may require you to enter the premises of a CQC-registered care home as part of your employment. Regulations which come into force from 11 November will require employees over 18 who enter CQC-registered care homes in England to have completed a full course of authorised COVID-19 vaccine doses at least 2 weeks before 11th November, unless they have a medical exemption. As part of your pre-employment checks you will need to provide evidence of your vaccinations or medical exemption. Your employment will not commence until this evidence is received.

For an informal discussion please contact Liz Adamson (Principal Environmental Health Officer) on 01733 453542 or Jacqui Harvey, Head of Environmental Health and Licensing, on 01733 453502.

Closing Date: 10th October 2021
Interview Date: 25th and 26th October 2021

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire/Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve
