Further Information
We are looking for an experienced recruiter to join our talent team on a fixed term contract until March 2025. If you are looking for growth and development or a chance to put your recruitment skills into practice in this internal role, this opportunity is for you.

You will work alongside our Reablement Care Support team to provide support and input into recruitment strategies to enable the team to hire great talent.

If you’ve been nodding in agreement, then we have just the role for you. Keep reading to see if you could be a fit for this temporary Recruitment & Retention Officer position.

You have experience and knowledge of giving recruitment and retention advice to hiring managers, whether that be internally within an organisation or externally as a recruitment consultant. Experience in the care sector would be an advantage but not essential.

As a creative force you can generate fresh ideas and intuitive solutions to some of the recruitment and retention challenges brought to you by hiring managers to source suitable candidates.

Your collaborative nature and strong communication skills help you to keep open and constructive working relationships with a diverse group of colleagues and your use of data analysis and problem solving to build trust.

A keen interest in – and experience of – diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, helps you to drive positive action in the workplace and promote applications from a wide range of candidates, including those from under-represented groups. You will also be competent in the use of talent acquisition systems and candidate management.

Your core responsibilities will be:

- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract talented candidates
- Post job advertisements on various platforms (e.g. website, job boards, social media)
- Screen resumes and application materials to identify the most qualified candidates
- Coordinate the interview process, including scheduling, preparing interview questions, and facilitating meetings
- Conduct initial phone or video interviews to further evaluate candidate qualifications

What we offer in return, flexibility for you to complete your work hours around home life, school runs, or other responsibilities and you will be able to discuss this with your line manager. Hybrid working two days per week from our Sand Martin House office and three days a week from home. A wide range of employee benefits, including some excellent national and local discount schemes and LGPS pension scheme where the council contributes 17.5%.

As part of the growing, forward-thinking team at PCC, you will help drive a positive impact on the lives of over 215,000 people in what is now the second-fastest growing City in the United Kingdom.

If this sounds like your next career move, then hit “apply” to quickly and easily answer a few questions to help understand if you are a good fit for the role and we promise to get back to you once the role has closed.

We will be reviewing applications and conducting interviews on a rolling basis as qualified candidates apply. The role may close at any time once the right person has been hired, so we encourage interested applicants to apply as soon as possible.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
