Employment for this role will be through Change Grow Live but based within Peterborough City Council.

As a Recovery Coordinator with Change Grow Live you will work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to take up the position within the cgl Aspire Peterborough drug and alcohol treatment service as a Recovery Coordinator within the Family Safeguarding Team.

Aspire Peterborough is an integrated end-to-end drug and alcohol treatment and recovery service which offers a wide range of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions to Peterborough residents, their families and significant others who are experiencing issues with drugs and/or alcohol use.

Responsibilities

The Recovery Coordinator (with Family Safeguarding specialism) will work alongside Children’s Services and be primarily based at Peterborough City Council to provide intensive support to families on Child Protection and / or Child in Need plans who have drug and/or alcohol misuse issues which could potentially be putting their children, families or themselves at risk. This role will cover operational sites as required, including community locations and family homes.

The post holder will be integral to ensuring a high quality service that promotes recovery, resilience, and self-determination across the service. Aspire Drug and Alcohol Service will support people in a recovery oriented system of intervention; the service will be user-focused and aspirational in its work with service users to realise their identified goals including the attainment of the highest quality of life possible, social reintegration and sustained recovery from problematic substance use.

The post-holder will ensure that all clients consistently receive high quality services that adhere to the best practice guidelines and achieve high professional standards holistically supporting adult service users to enter and move through integrated recovery oriented substance misuse services and increase opportunities for service users to achieve sustainable treatment outcomes within Peterborough. This role will also involve significant work with the family members and of service users.

As directed by the Team Leader , the Recovery Coordinator (with Family Safeguarding specialism) will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team delivering comprehensive interventions across operational sites in Peterborough, as well as the outreach and in-reach provision in the locality area. The Recovery Coordinator (with Family Safeguarding specialism) will carry a capped caseload and provide screening, comprehensive assessments, needle exchange, risk assessment and risk management, recovery planning & review, support access to medically assisted recovery (through titration and prescribing regimes), provide outreach / in-reach services, deliver 1-1 motivational key working sessions as well as structured groups to support service users through engagement, detoxification, stabilisation and rehabilitation. This post also entails holding a much smaller capped caseload of Child protection / Child in Need cases and the successful candidate will work closely with the Children and Families and YP teams already established at cgl Aspire.
