We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Prison based Social Worker to be based at HMP Peterborough and the Approved Premises (Peterborough).

This is a new and developing post and the successful applicant will undertake social care tasks and responsibilities specifically linked to the implementation of the Care Act (2014).

The successful applicant will have substantial post qualifying experience of working with complex mental health cases. It is essential that they have a detailed understanding of the Care Act in the context of adult social care provision to eligible prisoners or individuals under supervision and also applied knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act. They will be required to be self motivated with the ability to work as part of a multi disciplinary team while promoting the social care agenda within the Prison and the Approved Premises.

The successful applicant will need to feel comfortable working within the constraints of both environments. They will be required to have a successful additional prison security check.
