About the Role: As a Principal Emergency Planning Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our community is prepared for any emergency. You will be a senior professional in all matters related to emergency planning and business continuity.  Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining an integrated approach to emergency planning, overseeing the implementation of local authority functions, and ensuring effective partnership working at local, regional, and national levels. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Delivery of emergency planning functions, including the development and implementation of emergency and business continuity plans. 

Liaise with partners, health authorities, government agencies, and other key stakeholders to support a coordinated approach to emergency planning in Peterborough. 

Provide specialist professional direction and oversight for emergency planning activities. 

Deputise for the Manager of Emergency Planning as required, providing management and support during incidents. 

Contribute to the development and delivery of training and exercises for senior officers and partners.
