Personal Advisor - Leaving Care Team
All about the Role
Peterborough City Council is currently looking for a committed and self-motivated person to work within the Leaving Care Service as a Personal Advisor.
A Personal Adviser (PA) works with care experienced young people to make sure they receive the care, support and entitlements they need when they leave care. The Personal Advisor will work as part of a team providing support to young people in care and those that are care experienced to support them with a positive transition into adulthood and independence.
The Team's priorities are to ensure that young people are living in suitable accommodation, have opportunities to engage in education, employment/training, and can contribute positively within the local community. You will work within the Leaving Care Team which is part of Peterborough City Council’s Corporate Parenting Service.
You will hold a case load of eligible, relevant and former relevant and qualifying young people, providing 1:1 support, and undertake the role of Personal Advisor as described in the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and the Children and Social Work Act 2017.

You have experience of working with young people in a professional capacity and have an understanding of the challenges facing care experienced young people as they make the transition to independence
You are enthusiastic and can engage with young people in creative ways
You have the flexibility to work occasional unsocial hours
You are organised, able to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
You are punctual, reliable and you work with integrity.
You have a full Driving Licence and are willing and able to travel to different areas.
