Further Information
We have a brand new exciting post in our expanding TEC service in Adult Social Care for a qualified professional Occupational Therapist to develop and extend the existing service for assistive technology.
You will be working within the Therapy Services Team to provide a specialist service and support people to maximise their independence and improve outcomes by preventing, reducing or delaying the need for formal care, avoiding hospital admission and supporting informal carers.
You will be responsible for completing holistic assessments and have excellent problem solving skills and a practical outlook.
We are looking for someone who is confident with Smart technology and is willing to offer innovation and new ideas to others looking for a technology solution. Although some experience in TEC equipment and provision would be desirable, we are happy to provide full training. You will have a strength based approach to enable people to have dignity, choice and control in their lives. You will possess the determination, drive and enthusiasm to support other staff by increasing their TEC knowledge in assessing and prescribing appropriate devices. Above all, we want you to have a keen interest in this specialist area of work and willing to represent our service in the best way possible.
You need to be a good communicator to connect with local health, voluntary and third sector agencies to promote TEC and help support staff and formal carers. You’ll need to be organised and be able to make professional judgements while working with a variety of complex and challenging cases. In joining the team you will be part of a supportive social care service where your flair for finding creative solutions can flourish.
You will be involved in working with the TEC team on new projects and developments where you will be able to utilise skills that help culture change and facilitate training on TEC.
You need to be able to drive and have a car available for work and travel around the City of Peterborough.
The role is part time role of 28 hours
