Further Information
MASH provides a safeguarding triage function and as an MASH Social Worker you will be responsible for triaging concerns based on the level of risk as well as holding your own s42 enquires.

You will need to provide a response which is preventative by signposting to relevant organisations or conduct (or instruct others to conduct) enquiries under section 42 of the Care Act.

MASH works closely with its partner agencies in the spirit of the Care Act to share information with the aim of providing the highest quality of response to adults at risk.
MASH is committed to making safeguarding personal and this involves engaging with the adult at risk, or their advocate to agree a way forward which follows the six key principles of s42 enquires under the Care Act.

The team is co-located with the police at Chord Park, Godmanchester and you will be expected to undertake advanced vetting for this position.

The person we are looking for will:
• Be a registered social worker and have completed their AYSE
• Have a willingness to develop an in-depth knowledge of the Care Act and be able to apply it in practice.
We currently have vacancies for 2 thirty-seven hour posts.

IMPORTANT: This role will require you to enter the premises of a CQC-registered care home as part of your employment. Regulations which come into force from 11 November will require employees over 18 who enter CQC-registered care homes in England to have completed a full course of authorised COVID-19 vaccine doses at least 2 weeks before 11th November, unless they have a medical exemption. As part of your pre-employment checks you will need to provide evidence of your vaccinations or medical exemption. Your employment will not commence until this evidence is received.

If you would like to discuss the role in more detail please contact Julie Rivett, Adult MASH Manager on 01354 750111 (Julie.Rivett@Cambridgeshire.gov.uk)

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
