The very busy child protection team at Peterborough City Council requires an organised and efficient legal officer to assist lawyers with all aspects of cases in Care proceedings, and related matters. It would be an advantage for applicants to have some knowledge of child protection or family law. Applicants must have worked in an office environment, but also have experience of working remotely, have good IT skills and be able to use electronic office and case related management systems. The role also involves liaising with the Court, solicitors, barristers and experts both by email and by telephone, so confidence and good communication skills are essential. Applicants will need to be able to manage a busy caseload and be able to deal with more than one matter at a time, as emergency applications are not uncommon. Although part of a busy team, applicants will need to be able to use their initiative and work independently, as the role is no longer purely office based. Previous applicants need not apply.
