As an Independent Chair in Peterborough you:

Will have a requirement for skills and knowledge across children’s and adult services, enabling the post holders to respond to the safeguarding needs of both children and adult at risk as required.
A critical and central role in improving the lives of Looked After Children in ensuring their views are heard, fully considered and have influence in the decisions and plans for their future are expected to be the driving force for ensuring Care Plans are child focussed with clear timescales.

Accountable for ensuring that any large scale investigations into safeguarding concerns relating to providers of care to adult at risk are conducted effectively and proportionately.

To chair and manage child protection case conferences as well as providing child protection advise and consultation to key multi-agency partners. You will be expected to contribute to the overall development of Children’s Services within an equalities framework, and to ensure the highest possible standards of practice are adhered to.

As an experienced practitioner you must be able to analyse information and ensure all issues relating to safeguarding are considered with a clear plan of action identified.
