An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the busy Housing Needs team to support homeless households and those threatened with homelessness to find alternative accommodation.
Do you understand the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and how to apply the law in practice?
Do you enjoy partnership working and delivering solutions to persons threatened with homelessness?
You will be responsible for:
- Working with households threatened with homelessness to retain or secure accommodation to prevent their homelessness.
- Processing and assessing applications from households who present to the council as homeless or threatened with homelessness.
- Creating Personalised Housing Plans and working with clients to support them to achieve positive outcomes through their actions.
- Making decisions linking budgeting, accommodation, health and empowering change.
- Creating and monitoring Personalised Housing Plans.
Ideally you will have a detailed knowledge of social housing and homelessness. Excellent customer service skills, organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team. You will also have experience of dealing with challenging customers with multiple needs and be able to work in a busy front line environment.
