This is an exciting time to be joining the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) which launched at the beginning of December 2020.

As Head of the RAA, reporting directly to the Assistant Director, you will be at the heart of bringing the best of adoption practice from both authorities together to enable us to deliver a high quality, high performing, and sustainable Regional Adoption Agency that supports our most vulnerable children and young people.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader, or someone with potential and experience in adoption practice, to head up the service and inspire the newly formed team, provide motivation and champion outstanding adoption practice. Through building strong and collaborative partnerships with colleagues within the Family Safeguarding Teams that share senior leadership across both Authorities, you will be at the centre of developing and improving practice that secures legal permanence for children and young people at the earliest opportunity.

With a can-do approach, you will lead practice within the RAA, implement the change agenda as it relates to practice and devise processes and procedures that enhances practice. Knowledge of both local and national issues that relate to the regional adoption agenda and practice will be necessary for this role as you lead the RAA into its next stages of implementation and development.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other RAA Leaders across the Country to champion adoption and contribute to the planning and delivery at local and national levels. This role provides the successful candidate with a fantastic opportunity to develop leadership skills and improve outcomes for vulnerable children by developing a new service that crosses traditional local authority borders.

You can expect excellent benefits and development opportunities but most importantly, you will play a key role in improving outcomes for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough's most vulnerable children who have a permanence plan of adoption as well as developing and expanding our offer to Special Guardians that are representative of the diverse communities that we serve.

For an informal discussion or more information about the role, please contact Ricky Cooper, Assistant Director, Children's Services on 01223 699609.
