You will have the variety of what was traditionally known as Employee Relations, (with casework) along with strategic business partnering work. You will be working with senior managers to deliver their people agenda, providing them with advice, support and guidance around a variety of business challenges and projects, including change management and TUPE.
In recognition of this diverse approach, Peterborough City Council moved away from the term “Employee Relations” to “People & Business Relations”. That team still undertakes that important “ER” work but also supports with so many other initiatives. You will need your commercial lens to understand your business areas strategic goals and stakeholders people challenges, allowing you to help and inform your recommendations.
This is a hybrid role so during a normal week you will sit in our modern, purpose-built city centre home at least twice a week (which has cathedral, river and green space views), giving you the opportunity to maximise face-to-face time with your team and the managers you support, whilst keeping work-life balance.
There is also the flexibility for you to complete your work hours around school runs, or other responsibilities and you will be able to discuss this with your line manager.
