Peterborough City Council currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our creative and dynamic team as a HR Advisor.


Joining 2 other HR Advisors the role will support the organisation in key aspects of Human Resources. Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful candidate will provide robust HR advice and coaching to line management on key HR matters such as policies and procedures, absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance management issues and organisational change across a range of services. This opportunity would be perfect for a HR Generalist who can effectively oversee HR cases from end to end to achieve successful outcomes for individuals and the organisation.

To be successful in this exciting and varied role you will:

* Enjoy a diverse,busy & fast paced environment
* Ideally CIPD qualified to level 5 or qualified by relevant experience
* Have experience of end to end case management including grievance, disciplinary, capability and absence management
* Have a good understanding of employment law, effective people management practices and latest developments in HR
* Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office skills
* Have experience of working in partnership with managers to deliver HR solutions.
* Have excellent interpersonal skills and evidence of dealing with people at different levels.
* Have the ability to coach line managers to fulfil their people management responsibilities.
* Be able to multitask and effectively prioritise competing deadlines across a number of service areas daily.
* Have flexibility, accountability, enthusiasm and strong team working skills.

Currently, due to Covid, the team are all working virtually however, normally we would be in a beautiful working location at our modern Sand Martin House offices on the bank of the river Nene. This contemporary office is within easy walking distance of Peterborough City Centre and has great transport links.
