Strong governance is a fundamental element of school improvement and supporting the best possible outcomes for pupils. This post offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of governance in Peterborough schools.

We are seeking a forward thinker, who can forge strong relationships with governors, Headteachers and other stakeholders to strategically lead the service to ensure that it meets the need of schools.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality guidance, support and challenge to Governing Bodies of LA Maintained Schools and Academies to help to ensure that they fulfil their statutory functions effectively. The Governance Lead will lead the development of our training programme for governors and line manage a dedicated team of Clerks.

This is an exciting time to join Peterborough Children’s Services which is being led by a Director with high aspirations for our children and young people. The successful applicant will be a key member of our well-regarded School Improvement Team.
