This is a very exciting time to join our newly created fostering service, as we have modernised and aligned the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough fostering teams. You will be involved from the start in supporting the service to build on its strengths and become an outstanding fostering agency. A commitment and passion for supporting foster families and the children in care that they are looking after is essential.
We have a vacancy for a fostering placement officer in the Peterborough supervision team. If you are an excellent communicator, enjoy making relationships, have exceptional organisational skills and can use IT systems well, we would love to hear from you. Knowledge of the needs of children in care and foster families is an advantage as is a calm and friendly approach.
You will be involved in identifying all in-house fostering placements to ensure sound matching and to maximise the use of the in-house resource. The post holder will maintain a database of all the foster carers within their team, and the vacancies. They will manage the relationship between the foster carer, supervising social worker and child social worker to ensure that all placements are well matched and set up in a way that provides the best possible start to all foster placement.
