Peterborough has been allocated £2.8M to implement the Family Safeguarding model, following the successful development of the approach by Hertfordshire County Council. Family Safeguarding involves the development of multi-disciplinary teams situated within children’s social care that include adult mental health, substance and alcohol misuse and domestic abuse practitioners working alongside children’s social workers with families with the most complex needs to develop a single family plan. Peterborough Children's Services are seeking to recruit Team Managers to implement this new innovation in addition to a Team Manager for our existing Children In Care Team.
You’ll be an experienced social care manager, motivated, an excellent communicator, data competent, experienced in quality improvement and able to effect change. You will be expected to provide accurate and timely monitoring on performance reports on service delivery and bring staff with you in improving our performance.

The DfE Evaluation Report on Family Safeguarding Hertfordshire was published on 7th July and concludes that the initial indicators of the impact of this new way of working are very positive and recommends that other local authorities implement the key elements of Family Safeguarding .
