This is a fast-paced and varied role in an exciting environment. The role primarily ensures the Leader of the Council has excellent secretarial support, but will also provide support to the Deputy Leader.

We are looking for an Executive Officer who is able to work efficiently and be highly productive, who can provide professional administrative support, understanding political sensitivities and has a “can do” and positive approach to work.

The main duties include:-
? To be the first point of contact for the Leader and Deputy Leader of the
Council
? Provide an essential interface between the Leaders Office and other internal
teams and external organisations
? To fully support the leader with all aspects of diary management,
administrative duties, as well as providing advice and assistance to Cabinet
Members
? To coordinate the preparation and organisation on meetings
? To monitor the Leaders Office budget, approving and reporting on all
expenditure
? To understand and be aware of political, strategic and policy issues, and be
able to deal with situations as they arise, whilst maintaining political
impartiality at all times
? Support the Leader and Deputy Leader in writing reports and
correspondences to MP’s, Media, external companies and stakeholders
? To line manage the Leaders Executive Assistant, overseeing their
workloads, undertake 121’s and Personal Development Reviews
