You will probably be aware of the pressures surrounding housing needs in Peterborough.
We are looking for someone with good housing and/or property market background with knowledge of the area to fulfil the role of Empty Homes Officer.
The role will encompass all aspects in contacting, liaising and negotiating with empty home owners across the city, monitoring case progress and dealing with complaints received. The main aim of the role will be to reduce the overall number of vacant properties, whilst building on the work already done in progressing difficult and complex cases to reach the end goal of seeing them occupied. Providing statistical analysis and case updates on a regular basis, this role is both challenging and rewarding, and one that is seen as crucial in playing a pivotal role in making best use of the existing housing stock in the city.
The post holder will have a proactive approach, good knowledge of the field of empty homes, the reasons as to why they become and remain empty, as well as the tools available to the authority in enabling us to tackle this problem.
