The role

Internal Communications has a crucial role to play within local government. Effective communications can have a direct impact on engagement, productivity and staff morale.

You’ll be dedicated to delivering consistent, quality and timely communications using a variety of channels. Establishing strong working relationships across all levels of the council, influencing and informing the development of the internal communications strategy will be a key element of your role.

You’ll also assess the impact of communications and make recommendations for improvement, with opportunities to enhance and improve existing communications channels.

What you’ll need

As an Employee Engagement Officer, you’ll have exceptional communication skills, both spoken and written, and creative in how messages are conveyed. You’ll be confident in advising multiple audiences, organising and prioritising your workload to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks. Experience in working in a busy communications team is essential.
