Opportunities like this do not come along often. We are looking to recruit a permanent Team Manager within the Emergency Duty Team. The post has primary responsibility for the children, young people and family side of the service.

The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) provides an out of hours social care response to emergency situations that arise outside of the normal working hours, on behalf of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Children and Adult Services.

The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) sits within the Integrated Front Door Service and is located at Chord Park in Godmanchester.

EDT receive contacts from members of the public, all statutory agencies and other organisations. EDT’s purpose is to respond to emergency social work situations, occurring outside normal office hours and which cannot wait until the next working day.

As a Team Manager you would be working to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and their families outside of normal working hours.

Due to the work pattern which includes evening, weekend and bank holiday cover there is an EDT allowance of 18% to reflect this aspect of the role.

You must hold a degree level qualification including a certified and current qualification in social work, with evidence of post qualifying experience in supervision /staff management . You should be experienced in undertaking threshold decisions, strategy discussions and Section 47 enquiries.
