Further Information
Peterborough is a unique combination of a New Town with a historic medieval core that has ambitious plans for the future. It is currently experiencing considerable investment in the city centre, including the opening of the University campus, along with the growth of new urban extensions on the edge of the city. Plans to revitalise the train station quarter will offer a positive welcome for every visitor.

Located on the East Coast Main Line and having an enviable cycleway network, you are able to travel to and around Peterborough in a sustainable way. We wear our green credentials proudly and are committed to projects to ensure that Peterborough becomes a net zero carbon city.

It’s an exciting time for electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Peterborough, in addition to rolling out infrastructure across our own estate, Peterborough City Council is working with the Peterborough and Cambridgeshire Combined Authority to deliver over £5m of LEVI funding to deliver on-street electric vehicle charging infrastructure across residential areas of the city.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to be responsible for the successful delivery of electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the council’s estate and on-street, from initial feasibility scoping through developing the business case to procurement and implementation. This will aid the decarbonisation of transport across Peterborough, directly supporting the council’s commitment to net-zero.

The postholder will lead on the identification and development of charging options, including identifying best practice, testing market opportunities and developing stakeholder buy in and support.
The postholder will work alongside colleagues and the wider council to drive forward complementary projects to support the carbon reduction agenda.

Our smart new offices are based at Fletton Quays and we can accommodate a high level of remote working due to a paperless, agile working framework. The successful candidate will benefit from a flexible working practice, cycle to work schemes, options to purchase extra annual leave, staff discounts and subsidised gym membership as well as a generous local government pension
