Are you looking to start a career in town planning? This job is suitable for graduates including final year students graduating this year. The main characteristics we’re looking for are an interest in the built environment, self-motivation and a willingness to learn on the job. For this reason, we would also welcome applications from those without a degree but experience of working in a planning or construction/design environment. We may be able to offer a Town Planning Apprenticeship to a suitable candidate.
You’ll be dealing with a caseload of householder and simple applications. We are looking for someone who is hard working, enthusiastic and can fit into a team that thrives on collaboration. The planning team is recognised within the Council as being vital to the continued growth of the city and you will play a part in achieving that.
Peterborough is a unique combination of a New Town with a historic medieval core that has ambitious plans for the future. It is currently experiencing considerable investment in the city centre, including a new university, and experiencing the growth of new urban extensions on the edge of the city. The enviable parkway and cycleway networks mean you can get around Peterborough in next to no time.
