* Can you manage a caseload and support a team of co-workers?

* Do you enjoy collaborative working?

If so, you may be the person we are looking for to help develop our newly combined
service. We provide information, advice and support to parents, young people and
children with special educational needs and disabilities in Peterborough and
Cambridgeshire. We are a small arm’s length service offering confidential and impartial
advice about education, health, and social care matters.

For many of the people we support, life can be challenging trying to ensure that their
child’s needs are met. As the Deputy Manager you will work closely with the Service
Manager but will have responsibility for overseeing the delivery of our service in
Peterborough, Fenland and Huntingdon. You will also carry your own complex
caseload.

The work can be both demanding and rewarding. It requires an excellent knowledge of
the SEND system, SEND mediation and tribunals. You will need the ability to work with
a wide range of people, often in difficult situations, and to contribute to the strategic
development of the service.

We receive lots of positive feedback from our service users and if you can help ensure
that we continue to receive comments like: -
“thank you ever so much for your help and support, from the very first conversation I had with you..….you have been wonderful and it’s great to have the support to get through the uncertain times”
We would very much like to hear from you. This job will be based in Peterborough, working within the joint service of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough SENDIASS. The Local Authority has an agile working policy - the role will require elements of home working, face to face and virtual meetings in an around the Peterborough area.

The post is full time 37 hours per week including school holiday periods. However, hours can be flexible to cover the needs of the service.

Training and induction will be available as necessary.

Application closes: Sunday 31st July 12 midnight

Interviews: Provisionally 11th & 12th August.

Start September/October if possible.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire/Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
