Are you passionate about quality assurance and ensuring the best standard of service delivery to children and young people. This is an exciting opportunity to work as a part of the Safeguarding Quality Assurance (SQA) service with specialist knowledge in contextual safeguarding.

We are implementing a new Contextual Safeguarding Approach in Peterborough and an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Contextual Safeguarding Chair to join us on this journey. The Contextual Safeguarding Chair will have responsibility for chairing Contextual Safeguarding Conferences as well as providing advice and consultation to key multi-agency partners.

You will have a critical and central role in improving the lives of children in ensuring their views are heard and fully considered and have influence in the decisions and plans for their future. You are expected to be the driving force for ensuring that Contextual Safeguarding Plans are evidence based, child focused, aspirational, achieved within the Child’s time frame and support in reducing the risk of extra familial harm.

You will have a broad range of experience and proven skills across children’s services, most notably knowledge relating to contextual safeguarding and extra familial harm, to enable you to respond to the safeguarding needs of children at risk of extra familial harm using effective critical analysis; drawing on a sound knowledge base and using effective communication with different audiences.

You will be expected to contribute to the overall delivery of services and continuous improvement of Children’s Services within an equalities framework, and to ensure the highest possible standards of practice are adhered to.

You will be a Social Work England registered Social Worker; with management experience and passionate about achieving best outcomes for children and young people.
