About the Role
We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Compliance and Asset Management Officer to manage Peterborough City Council’s technical Health and Safety obligations and future property investment needs for our short term supported and temporary housing accommodation.
We have a wide range of supported living services across a diverse client group. Primary needs include Homelessness, learning disabilities and drug and alcohol abuse. Our aim is to support our service users to develop independent living skills and achieve their personal aspirations.

Your role as Compliance and Asset Management Officer is to:
• Participate in the development of an Asset Management Strategy that ensures appropriate investment / disinvestment within the housing stock.
• Take responsibility for managing the Council’s Asset Management and Compliance database ensuring it is kept up to date and representative of the condition of the housing stock.
• Develop an annual plan of work for maintaining the various H&S compliance elements, together with a long term planned maintenance programme to ensure the housing stock is maintained to the agreed standard at all times.
• Set targets and monitor performance of the Health and Safety Compliance and Asset Management function to ensure legal and contractual compliance and quality service delivery.
• Develop policies and procedures for the key work streams associated with Compliance and Asset Management.
• Support the procurement and administration of contracts within the repairs and maintenance service, ensuring compliance of statutory and regulatory requirements.
About You
You will have:
• Experience of working within a social housing environment.
• A detailed understanding of the technical issues around property maintenance and Health and Safety.
• The ability to manage the performance of suppliers and contractors to achieve consistently high levels of service.
• Excellent ICT skills to manipulate property related data and produce management information and KPI status reports.
• The ability to produce annual compliance and capital works programmes including a financial forecast for including in annual budgets.
• The flexibility to respond positively to changing needs.
• A commitment to achieve continuous service improvements.
As a Compliance and Asset Management Officer you will be passionate and driven with the desire to provide high-quality person-centred support services and achieve tangible outcomes. You will have experience of working in the sector and demonstrate a successful track record of safeguarding corporate liabilities for your employer.
