This is an exciting time to join Peterborough City Council. Peterborough is one of the fastest growing cities in the UK.

Reporting to a team leader the successful candidate will lead the Planning Compliance Team, taking a proactive role in investigating and resolving breaches of planning control, improving the quality of the environment and delivering positive outcomes for our communities.

Candidates will need to have:
- experience in a planning or regulatory field of work
- be able to understand and interpret legislation
- map and plan reading skills
- the ability to communicate effectively through a variety of media with a variety of customers
- good organisational and ICT skills
- the ability to research complex cases
- research skills
- the willingness to occasionally work outside normal office hours to investigate cases
- an eye for detail

This is a busy Planning Department and you will need to be able to work under pressure, but in return you will be part of a friendly and supportive team, working in a new office environment in the centre of Peterborough.
In order to drive efficiencies, the successful candidate may be required to work in neighbouring authorities.
