No two days are ever the same working in our shared Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council communications team. From developing campaigns, to writing features and providing first line media responses about a whole range of council services – there’s a fresh challenge every day.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Communications Manager to support our People and Public Health directorate to promote and explain the great work the department does do to protect and improve the lives of adults, children and young people in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

This position would suit someone who has considerable experience in a media and/or communications role with responsibility for leading a media and communications strategy. Proactive, flexible and with a confident you will have the ability to manage multiple demands with minimal direction. As well as excellent working knowledge of the media environment in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough as well as nationally, you will also have:
• Proven ability in developing a strategic communications approach and provide confident leadership.
• Experience in using multi-media and social networking channels to build campaigns and appeals.
• The ability to initiate, develop and implement media activity covering complex issues.
• Experience of developing and building a wide range of partnerships to create public profile and impact.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to work independently without direct media and communications management support.
