Further Information
We’re on the look-out for someone with experience in communications to join our busy team working for Peterborough City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council.

From developing campaigns supporting vulnerable children or highways, answering questions from the media, producing social media content to be seen by thousands of people or briefing key stakeholders including MPs - no two days are ever the same working in our busy communications team.

In this role you will be making a difference to the lives of people living and working in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire and promoting our area as an excellent place to live, work or visit.

We need someone who has experience of working with the media and is just as comfortable developing and delivering campaigns. You might come from a marketing background, or you may already be working in media and PR. You will need to be media savvy – as confident talking to local, regional and national journalists as you are members of the local community.

The successful candidate will have a high level of written English, be highly organised, flexible, cool-headed and able to work well as part of a busy, supportive team.

The role would suit someone keen to take the next step in their communications career - who has already mastered skills including social media, media relations, marketing, campaigns and events and can demonstrate success - but wants to move this to the next level.

We are committed to investing in the talent and wellbeing of our staff and offer access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, health and wellbeing initiatives and flexible working. We support hybrid working and the role will require a mix of office and home-based working.

If you are someone who is passionate about communicating and think you have the right experience and qualifications for this role, we want to hear from you! For an informal discussion please contact Amanda Rose on 07572 463889 or Ken McErlain on 07572 463528.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire/Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
