Further Information
Do you have experience of working in Health and/or Social Care and would like to make a real difference to services and how support is delivered in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire?
The Adult Social Care Commissioning Team is looking for a new member of their team to become a Commissioning Officer to do just that. The Commissioning Team look at the services that are being paid for by the local authority and how well they are being delivered, through market appraisals and needs analysis. We look at what is being delivered and where we can make improvements by speaking to service users who receive support, as well as the providers who deliver the support. Once we have a good picture of what is being delivered and areas for development, we come together to design a solution that can deliver high quality, effective care for the residents of the Council. We then procure the provision, from running tenders and evaluating bids, to implementing the contracts. Once in place, we then support the monitoring and review of the service provisions, to ensure we are delivering the desired outcomes.
If this is something that interests you and think you would be a good candidate for, then we want to hear from you.
If you have:
- the ability to work with a range of people to achieve a common goal
- strong interpersonal skills
- good analytical skills
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- proficient organisational and planning skills (such as project management experience)
- an enthusiastic attitude and an eagerness to learn
and want to make a positive difference to the lives of older adults and vulnerable people, this could be the role for you.
Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire/Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
