All about the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Adult’s Commissioning Team as a Commissioning Officer, supporting the commissioning of services for vulnerable adults and families in Peterborough. The role of Commissioning Officer will include supporting the commissioning, contract monitoring and quality assurance of services, improving the outcomes of vulnerable adults. You will be working within a varied portfolio of services, from care homes, to home care, to early intervention and prevention services in the community. We are also taking a focus on engaging with the community, co production is at the heart of what we do, and we are aspiring to be great at this!  

We have 3 vacancies for a fixed term of 1-year, with potential for future opportunities. This role will support you in developing a breadth of skills and expertise or build on existing skills you may have already perhaps as a care provider, or indeed someone with a lived experience of our services.

All about You
 This role would be ideal for someone who has worked within Adult Social Care who would like to be part of improving services and shaping change. Perhaps you have been a Senior Support Worker, a Deputy Manager, or a Field Supervisor and are looking for the next step in your career. Or maybe you have an eye for detail and enjoy problem solving and working with people to improve services.

All about our Team
In Peterborough we operate a ‘full cycle’ commissioning team, which includes both the commissioning of services and contract management. The Commissioning Managers manage and deliver the strategic commissioning cycle, from determination of need, planning and reconciliation to the council’s budget planning cycle, to delivery and management of contracts to meet identified need. The Commissioning Officer role supports the commissioning and quality functions across all portfolios. Portfolios fall broadly into accommodation based and community based services and are led by experienced Senior Commissioning managers.

The team consists of a broad array of experience and exposure to Adult Social Care, both professionally, personally with some staff joining the team with no experience but the skills and drive to succeed in the role. The supportive culture within the team provides opportunities to develop and has led to members of the team progressing from Officers to Managers.
